I am intrigued by texture and the process of layering thin layers of paint to create a rich surface. I see my painting techniques as metaphors to communicate the gritty, imperfections of life. When adding translucent layers of paint, I am reminded that the actions of my “yesterday” affect my “today”. My subject matter explores the simplicity of common existence.

I am a native of Jacksonville, Florida and a graduate of the University of North Florida with a bachelor's degree in Art Education. For the past sixteen years, I have taught art at Orange Park High School in Orange Park, Florida. I also teach lessons for adults and children at The Art Loft in Jacksonville.

My work has been exhibited in the Museum of Contemporary Art's Education Gallery in Jacksonville, FL, Corse Gallery in Jacksonville, R. Roberts Gallery in Jacksonville, the Village Gallery in Orange Park, FL, the St. Augustine Art Association in St. Augustine, FL, the University of North Florida in Jacksonville, FL., and Florida State College of Jacksonville.
